Footpaths and Public Rights of Way

There is a responsibility placed on the local authority (Norfolk County Council) and landowners to ensure that these rights of way are passable, but there is also a responsibility placed upon the public to use them sensibly.

The Highways Department of Norfolk County Council has a responsibility for the maintenance of public rights of way, as do Landowners by keeping rights of way clear of obstructions.

Fleggburgh Parish Council has no specific duties for rights of way; however, they are given certain powers which can help the public to enjoy the public path network.  The Parish Council does maintain certain public rights of way within the parish which is maintainable at public expense.
